Walking the Healing Path
Have you heard of nature bathing? Data now shows that being out in nature helps to calm our nervous system and increase a feeling of peace. We combine this with building an empathic environment where all participants are encouraged to be their authentic self and find connections with others.
In collaboration with the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy, this program offers a therapeutic and educational space for those directly and indirectly affected by the 2018 synagogue shooting, as well as the greater Pittsburgh community, to come together for a guided walk that will build connections and foster healing and well-being. The goals of this program will be for participants to work on their own healing, to connect with others, to feel less alone in their pain and to learn about our surroundings. We will provide instructions and support on how to create a space for mutual healing with new friends and peers, and all walks will also be joined by a therapist with trauma training.
